Facilities Available for Weddings

The Bush Chapel, The Glen, The Lodge and/or The Lodge grounds. Chairs and/or a Sound System and/or microphones are available for ceremonies in The Glen or The Lodge. We can also supply a signing table and cloth at no extra charge. Please be aware that there is no power at The Chapel. The path to the chapel is uneven and may be difficult for elderly or disabled.

Wet Weather Alternatives

If your special event is to take place in the Main Camp Chapel or The Glen it is advisable to make alternative arrangements in case of unsuitable weather conditions (either a totally alternate venue or if available you may like to consider The Lodge at an additional, non-refundable cost) as it is a rainforest setting.

Parking for Guests or Participants

All guests are to park in the Camp car park and walk to the venue. Exemptions to this apply for a celebrant, photographer or caterer who may be given access to The Lodge or the Turning circle, subject to available parking. Aged, infirmed or disabled guests may be transported to The Lodge but wherever possible the vehicle is then to be returned to the main Camp car park. Members of the wedding party are permitted to park at The Lodge.  Please be aware that there is limited parking at the camp.  Please consider hiring mini buses to transport your guests if you anticipate more than 100 guests.

WE DO NOT HIRE OUT THE ACCOMODATION FOR WEDDING GUESTS TO STAY OVERNIGHT.

Alcohol

Consumption of alcohol in moderation is permitted near the Lodge or as pre-arranged. No alcohol to be walked through other areas.

Smoking: Recognising the legal implications regarding passive smoking, all buildings situated on all properties owned or controlled by the Scout Association have been declared “smoke free” areas.

Receptions

Various options for receptions are available at the Camp, including formal or informal receptions in The Lodge, informal receptions on the Lodge surrounds or semi-formal or informal receptions in The Glen.  RECEPTIONS MUST CONCLUDE AND CLEANED UP BY 10pm (NO EXCEPTIONS). We ask that you leave the camp in a quiet manner so as not to disturb others in camp.

Please be aware that there will more than likely be other people using the camp at the same time as you and we ask that you be considerate of them.  Please ask for a copy of our Wedding Hirers Booklet for more information.
